SUNDAY PRAYER, clxxvi
time & time again,
the many people i have been.
faces in the mountain grooves
changing as the sun moves.
all of these people are so drunk.
we are so lost for so much of our lives.
blind leading blind leading roles.
feed me the line.
i am, i am
time & time again
there is no company like being alone.
first base, second base, third base, home
a hundred & seventy-six solitary poems.
each a person i have been
and am no more, though
at our core we cannot change.
we are into the mountain
carved away
but you're a birthday,
deep with the dayshine
from dusk to moonbreak,
the dust of keepsakes
time & time again, i am i am
