SUNDAY PRAYER, clxxxiv
time & time again
i wake up. the sun is bright and cold
the covers braiding with my legs
and arms. i have no alarm.
the walls stand their guard
tall and white and plain as jane
i have no fear of this day.
today will pass as any other day will pass.
and when it goes, will be replaced
by yet another day to face.
so get up already out of bed.
sleep when you are nice and dead.
that time will be here all to soon.
by day by night by moon by light
for now however you are young
you are the air that fills your lungs
become, become.
you are a birthday,
deep with the dayshine
from dusk to moonbreak,
the dust of keepsakes
time & time again, i am i am
