SUNDAY PRAYER, ccxiv

time & time again

when the horizon wraps eternity

in orange and tilts the oceanside

the only ride that matters is

your life, the black and white,

the day you shined into my life

just like a cat in brittle strides

across the keys of the piano,

i saw color. is it possible

that someone can be selfless?

or do we for others really only

just do indirectly for ourselves?

whisper, sing, or speak, or sign

the first line is the best

& write your heart, and good will follow

the art will never hollow you

i am, i am

but you are a birthday,

deep with the dayshine

from dusk to moonbreak,

the dust of keepsakes

time & time again, i am i am
