SUNDAY PRAYER, ccxxiii
time & time again
with floral leis around a rosy neck
the sun aglow in her chateau
will sing to all the birds she knows
in this blueberry sky of mine
who is there for me to find?
and every bird will answer her
everything on earth is yours
but time & time again
at that the sun would always cry
what business with the ground have i?
he drains me to my last twilight
daily with the ups and downs
a shadow found is a sunbeam lost
sunk into an arctic crown
the boss of frost, the god of frowns
i am, i am
but you are a birthday,
deep with the dayshine
from dusk to moonbreak,
the dust of keepsakes
time & time again, i am i am
