SUNDAY PRAYER, ccxxiv
time & time again
where eyes unclose & ears unplug
& dust is king under the rug
where decent hugs are hard to find
and it gets harder to unwind
at the end of a every day
as bulbs are burning on the lampshade
the heaviest burdens are the ones
you never weigh
but time & time again
they will be etched into your teeth
as they grow up through the knotted strands
of water where the seagulls dance
with the gargoyle in your mind
his cold cement runs through your human spine
and down into your human feet
into your heart until it no longer beats
i am, i am
but you are a birthday,
deep with the dayshine
from dusk to moonbreak,
the dust of keepsakes
time & time again, i am i am
