SUNDAY PRAYER, cclxxi

time & time again

drill bits and outdated elecronics

light fixture tits glow and cast

shadows on the yellowing stucco, carrying

collections of carrion, mosquitoes

and gnats, and we make love under that.

there are hidden graveyards everywhere.

for every flat, perhaps somewhere

there's a spare.

time & time again

the ruby radio tower blinking outside

the electric daisy carnival. a search

for less random forms of some love on earth

in the hidden graveyards everywhere

in pearly smiles, in walnut hair

if i am to walk toward death my whole life

i'd probably get there a little faster

if i didn't have a wife

you are a birthday

deep with the dayshine

from dusk to moonbreak

the dust of keepsakes

time & time again, i am i am
