SUNDAY PRAYER, cclxxv
time & time again
ties the feathers to the worms, as
the hooks look for fishes in the stream,
innocent as bullets. and sunbeams
do not have to answer for the cancers,
there is not pause or space enough to place blame
between the causes of who we are and what we do
a question no one has the answer to
time & time again
water makes its way down the cabinet
and slowly lurks across the floor, making
a path from the sink to the door. i want to be
a good person. i want to be a real human being
& as much as i am tired of zombie analogies
i really do feel dead a lot of the time
i really am stuck in my head a lot of the time
i really am
you are a birthday
deep with the dayshine
from dusk to moonbreak
the dust of keepsakes
time & time again, i am i am
