SUNDAY PRAYER, cclxxxviii
time & time again
the skeletons of the moonlight droop
right down through the trees to lay
each of their bleached bones around me
they say, it is okay to be blue
they say, it is okay to be you
this brittle moon above is filled
with love for all of us, if it's true
once it's true time & time again
the skeletons of the moonlight laughed
on the alleyway path in patterns
that would defy any attempt of ours to photograph
their rapid though minute exhaltations
in all but innummerable combinations
you crystal moonlight shadow
how fast and untraceably your life goes
i am, i am
but you are a birthday
deep with the dayshine
from dusk to moonbreak
the dust of keepsakes
time & time again, i am i am
