AN ARRANGEMENT IN 7/8

she is arranging the flowers

in a dining room

i'll never see again

tonight i'll leave her in pieces

i carry always on

my trips around the sun. where do they go

down to the cafe we'd frequent

when we weren't feeling poor

the people know us there. they asked about you.

& life is light in the springtime

love is so wonderful

the dead are everywhere

i felt so young that september

the leaves were colorful

i see your face in them.

(despair, in 5/8)

someday we'll go out for coffee

she will be beautiful

and i will look destroyed

she'll show me stills of her children

this isn't happening

there was all this hope. where did it go?

(despair, in 6/8)

she will wait until monday

cuz she believes in me

i believe in her

i will return on a tuesday

she is the one for me

this can't be happening. where will i go?
